Ingredients make Muhammara
- It's 1 red bell pepper.
- It's 1 tomato.
- You need 1/2 cup flattened rice/poha.
- Prepare 1 tsp chopped onion.
- You need 1 tsp chopped garlic.
- You need 1/2 tsp cumin seeds.
- You need 2 tsp peri peri powder.
- It's 1 tsp lemon juice.
- It's 1/2 cup walnut.
- It's To taste Salt.
- Prepare 1 tbsp olive oil.
- Prepare For pomegranate molasses:.
- It's 1/2 cup pomegranate juice.
- You need 1 tsp sugar.
- You need 1 tsp Lemon juice.
- Prepare For garnish.
- It's As needed coriander leaves.
- It's As needed Pomegranate kernels.
Muhammara step by step
- Dry roast poha till it turns light brown then soak it in water for about 15 minutes.
- Apply olive oil on the bell pepper & tomato then heat roast them.
- Meanwhile, heat a pan, add pomegranate juice, sugar, lemon juice & stir. Carefully remove the froth formed on it. When the mixture is reduced & concentrated a bit, remove the pan from heat sauce.
- Afterwards peel off the outer black skin & slice the bell pepper & tomato flesh.
- Then heat 1 tsp olive oil in a pan, add cumin, chopped garlic, chopped onion, stir for couple of minutes then take this mixture off from heat sauce, cool this mixture & transfer it to blender jar.
- Then add sliced bell pepper, tomato, pomegranate molasses, salt, lemon juice, walnut, peri peri powder, poha, olive oil into blender jar & blend this mixture well..
- Toast bread, cut them into desired shape, add cucumber slice, then add Muhammara on it & top it with fresh coriander & pomegranate kernel. And your Muhammara is ready to serve! Enjoy!.
