  1. Prepare 2 tbsp oil.
  2. Prepare 1 cinnamon.
  3. Prepare 2 cardamom.
  4. It's 3 cloves.
  5. You need 4 bay leaves.
  6. It's 1 tbsp cumin seeds.
  7. It's 1 tsp whole peppercorns.
  8. Prepare 1 big sliced onion.
  9. It's 1 tbsp ginger and garlic paste.
  10. It's 100 gm garden peas.
  11. Prepare 2 cup basmati rice.
  12. Prepare 4 cup water.
  13. It's to taste Salt.

  1. Wash and Soak rice in water for 30 minutes..
  2. Heat oil, add cinnamon, cardamom, cumin, peppercorns, bay leaves and cloves. Do not burn the spices. Add sliced onion and sauté for two minutes on a medium flame. Add ginger garlic paste and sauté for another one minute. Add peas, mix well..
  3. Add 4 cups of water and let it boil. Add salt to taste. Drain the rice and add it in the water and cook. When the rice is 70% cooked, cover the pan with tight lid and keep the fire on very low and let it cook for 5 minutes..
  4. This is the stage to cover the pan with lid and on slow fire..
  5. Serve hot with raita.
